“My belief is that we were created to be in relationships and healthy relationships are foundational to our ability to experience deep satisfaction in life.”

Thank you for visiting my site! My name is Patricia ‘Pat’ Kuykendoll and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. I have enjoyed working with children in a school-based setting, adults, the aged in a long term setting, and various ages in a community mental health setting as well as private practice.

My belief is that we were created to be in relationships and healthy relationships are foundational to our ability to experience deep satisfaction in life. I am convinced that we can bear much when we do not bear it alone. I consider the therapeutic relationship to be a collaborative one. Together we partner to address your counseling goals.

I have a particular passion to empower parents and caregivers to nurture their children from a position of emotional safety for their children. In times of distress we will seek out those with whom we feel are emotionally safe. As parents and caregivers we want to be that place for our children.

Couples often are caught in unhealthy patterns which hinder each partner from feeling emotionally safe and able to communicate their needs and wants within the relationship. Identifying these patterns can help each partner to change the relationship pattern and related to one another in the context of emotional safety.

There are numerous other reasons that prompt individuals to commit to the counseling process. Among them are depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, and life transition. Often when people seek out a counselor they feel a brokenness within and a loss of hope. My desire is that you will connect with the places within that are not broken, the places of strength…you have them. It is those places where the seeds of hope can grow and healing begins. Time has not run out. Hope awaits…

As a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling, I am able to integrate a Christian worldview with psychology. I find my Christian faith a source of strength in the counseling process. I have received training in trauma work through The National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children. I have also completed Level One and Level Two in Gottman’s work for marital counseling as well as completed an externship in Emotional Focused Therapy for couples.
